What’s Happening in Ave Maria This Weekend: October 2–4, 2026

What’s actually on this weekend?

Looking for things to do in Ave Maria this weekend? For October 2–4, 2026, Ave Maria University’s calendar lists a Friday piano masterclass, Saturday home soccer and volleyball games, a Saturday Brahms piano performance, a Nerf Battle and Sunday’s Marian Prayer Group.

These are published calendar listings—not confirmation that every activity welcomes the general public. The available listings do not specify admission prices, registration requirements or visitor eligibility. Check those details with the university before making plans.

Here’s the day-by-day lineup, with a few practical ways to build your weekend around it.

Friday, October 2: Piano Masterclass

Piano Masterclass

• When: 6:00–9:00 p.m.
• Where: Private Dining Room, Ave Maria University

Friday’s listing is a piano masterclass. If you’re interested in music instruction, this is the event to investigate—but don’t assume it works like a drop-in concert. The calendar does not identify the instructor, participants or whether observers may attend.

Before heading over, ask whether the session is open to visitors and whether you need to register. For a casual evening out, it’s worth clarifying the format as well as access.

Saturday, October 3: Two home games and evening choices

Men’s soccer vs. St. Thomas

• When: 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
• Where: Gyrene Field

Men’s soccer opens Saturday’s listed schedule with a home match against St. Thomas. If you want to plan around daytime sports, this is the first event to consider.

Confirm spectator admission and any ticket requirements with AMU. Use the listed time window as a planning guide, rather than a promise of the exact finishing time.

Volleyball vs. Webber

• When: 2:00–4:00 p.m.
• Where: Field House Courts

The volleyball team’s home match against Webber follows in the afternoon. The published schedule makes soccer and volleyball a possible two-event outing, provided visitor admission is available for both.

There’s a gap between the listed windows, but leave room for getting between venues and taking a break. If you’re bringing children, choosing one game may make for a more relaxed day than trying to fit in everything.

The Late Piano Works of Brahms

• When: 7:00–9:00 p.m.
• Where: Private Dining Room
• Performer: Dr. Daniel Kuehler, piano
• Program title: The Late Piano Works of Brahms, Opp. 116, 118, and 119

For an evening centered on music, this is Saturday’s clearest performance listing. Unlike Friday’s masterclass, the title names both the pianist and the works featured.

Confirm public admission, any ticketing and seating arrangements before building dinner plans around it. The calendar provides the program and location, but not those attendance details.

Nerf Battle

• When: 7:00–11:00 p.m.
• Where: Student Union Ballroom

A Nerf Battle is also on Saturday’s university calendar. Its listing does not establish whether it is student-only, open to visitors or suitable for particular ages.

Treat this as an activity to ask about—not a confirmed public family event. Check eligibility, registration and equipment requirements before promising the kids a night out.

Sunday, October 4: Marian Prayer Group

• When: 6:30–9:00 p.m.
• Where: Academic Building 1001 – Demetree Lecture Hall

The Marian Prayer Group is Sunday’s listed event. If you’re interested in attending, ask whether visitors are welcome and whether there are any participation instructions.

This is listed as a prayer group, not a Mass. Don’t use its time or location as a substitute for a parish worship schedule.

What about events around town?

The supplied Town of Ave Maria events page shows news content rather than a dated lineup for this weekend. It does not establish a town-center festival, market or live-music event for October 2–4. That doesn’t mean nothing else is happening; it means we can’t responsibly add those activities to this roundup.

For broader local orientation, visit our Ave Maria guide. Keep any meal or shopping stop flexible until you’ve checked the business’s own hours.

Make the outing easy

Start with one event, confirm access, then arrange the rest of your day. The Ave Maria University events calendar is the source for all six listings above; revisit the relevant event details before leaving.

AVE RIDES PRO TIP Confirm the specific venue before arranging your ride. This weekend’s listings use several different campus locations, so “Ave Maria University” alone is not a precise meetup point.

If you’d rather leave the driving to someone else, explore Ave Rides transportation options and book a ride once your plans are settled. Agree on a pickup location and leave flexibility around the end of the event.
